I walked past a small empty boutique on my way to work. Fall leaves on the ground, mountains turning gold behind it. Something made me stop. By Friday I had signed the papers.

So I built something different. By hand.

For years I wasn't alone — a small handful of women helped me craft every piece. Then fabric and thread kept climbing in price. I could no longer afford the hands that helped me. I was left doing what used to take a team, alone.
